About this Preset
YouTube custom thumbnails must measure 1280 pixels wide by 720 pixels tall (minimum width 640 pixels, 16:9 ratio) and must weigh less than 2 MB in JPG, PNG, or WebP formats. An eye-catching thumbnail is the single most important factor for video click-through rate (CTR). If your thumbnail file size exceeds 2 MB, YouTube studio throws an upload error. Our tool locks the 1280x720 frame and compresses your artwork safely under 2 MB with vibrant colors.
How to Resize in 4 Simple Steps
- Upload your video thumbnail graphic.
- Dimensions 1280x720 px and 16:9 ratio are locked automatically.
- File weight is checked to ensure it remains comfortably below 2 MB.
- Download and upload to YouTube Studio.
